The Bureau of Labor Statistics is scheduled to release the October jobs report Nov. 6 at 8:30 a.m. ET. Before that, the Institute for Supply Management publishes its manufacturing and services surveys, the Census Bureau and BEA release September trade data Nov. 4, and the Treasury Department announces its quarterly refunding the same day.
Employers added 29,000 jobs in September after 133,000 in August, BLS said in its September jobs release. Both figures are preliminary, and BLS will revise them in the Nov. 6 report.
The unemployment rate was 4.2% in September and 4.1% in August; BLS said payrolls and the jobless rate both changed little in September.
The 30-year fixed mortgage rate averaged 7.24% as of Oct. 29, Freddie Mac said.
When are the October jobs report, ISM surveys and trade data released?

Nov. 2, 10 a.m.: ISM manufacturing survey (ISM calendar) and September construction spending (Census Bureau).
Nov. 3, 10 a.m.: September job openings, known as JOLTS (BLS), and September factory orders (Census Bureau).
Nov. 4: September trade balance at 8:30 a.m. (Census Bureau and BEA), the ISM services survey at 10 a.m. and Treasury's quarterly refunding announcement, which lays out its plans for selling longer-term debt.
Nov. 5: third-quarter productivity and labor costs at 8:30 a.m. (BLS) and Freddie Mac's weekly mortgage rates at 12 p.m. (publication calendar).
Nov. 6, 8:30 a.m.: October jobs report (BLS).

The National Association of Realtors releases October existing-home sales Nov. 12, according to its release schedule.
